Mrs Guwipa prefers the tiny golden ones over everything else I gifted her from Omega. This one is a Sapphette from the early 60ies ( and lucky me, these tiny pieces used to be available just for its weight in gold - more money to spend on my own watches 😀)

Likewise, my spouse prefers the vintage style of watch such as the subject Omega Sapphette. My spouse has many watches, but her favourite vintage watch is also a Sapphette. This one has a pastel blue synthetic sapphire crystal. She also has a marquise-shaped Sapphette that she is somewhat less enthusiastic about.

Hi Canuck,

Stunning pieces both but I confess, I would also prefer the round one over the other and so does wifey, too. She's got an Omega from the mid-30th, Art-Deco rectanguleur shaped and just on a tiny leather string and she said, this is looking old-fashioned to her (for whatever reason 😁)

btw, need to take some new pictures from her small collection to show here, I guess.

Cheers,

Winny

Two late 60s/early 70s Dynamics, a '66 orange and black SM120 (566.0007), and a 1969 ladies Constellation. That's just the Omega drawer 😉. I think Omega could do some interesting things if they revived the Dynamic I line.

Those blue ovoid Geneves are cracking little watches; I think the men's models look strange, but the women's have nice proportions.

The early Ladymatics are cool too.

Hi Karina,
Welcome to the forum- nice to hear that Fratello enlisted a woman contributor.
To answer your question, I only have one Omega ladies watch - a delightful litttle art deco watch which was once gifted to me by a longtime member here whose wife didn’t want it. I also have a 1942 Royal Air Force watch. Both have sentimental value.
Other than that,
I tend to prefer and wear other watch brands.

Edit/ add- I just noticed this query is in the « modern Omega » subforum so I’m clearly not in the target audience. (But that was already clear anyhow right?).
I love it! Amazing watch <3

Hi @karina_boheme your review on the Omega Tresor is quite interesting to read. I was very interested to see you mention, in that and other articles, the fact that this and other watches are made to appeal for « modern women » or «millenials ».
Since you’re an international marketing specialist, I’m very curious whether you or Omega have a sense —defined no doubt by qualitative surveys— as to what «modern women» and « millenials » want from a watch?

I would think a global company launching new products in this economy tries to get some sort of data before they do so.

Does Omega make those studies available for you to be able to carry out your reviews, or are you using your own data?

Or is this forum a way to gather data for future reviews perhaps?
First of all, thank you 😀

Honestly, I'm not sure if they have done such a survey. I've never asked. When I'm doing various activities for OLC, or writing for Fratello, I do it using my own perspective. As a millennial I can easily tell you what I expect from a watch, but I have no idea about others. 😀

I have a Constellation from 1999. Bought the 1950's Seamaster earlier in the year and had it serviced.

Normally, I wear my Rolex Oyster Perpetual 34, JLC MUT or IWC Pilot.

My wife still thinks spending over $100 on a watch is crazy. A recent his/hers pairing:

The Swatch is cool for the budget. My wife feels the same. Watches should be under $100 and a person only needs one.

Since the demise of the Longines La Classique this has worked well as a stopgap until either a vintage Dynamic or modern Constellation comes along...

Not an Omega. Gruen and Bulova were the two name brands that helped establish the fashion of Swiss made wrist watches for women, early in the 20th century. Both were American companies selling Swiss watches. This one belongs to Mrs. C.
