Omega in Melbourne in the 70's

Bourke St Mall Melbourne Australia in the late 70’s.with Dunklings centre

I purchased my Omega Seamaster 300 from “Dunklings” Jewellers in 1970 seen here centre of picture.
I paid $150 AUD and that was the recommended retail for the 300 in Australia, in the 60’s and 70’s, country prices were slightly higher.
Dunklings was a very big retailer in Australia of Omega Watches in the boon era of mechanical watches.
It was a great era.

Recently Ive noticed the tritium plots are getting a bit yellow and the gold isn't as gold on the bezel

I know it’s not omega but has to do with the topic.

I recently was gifted this one under the proviso I repair it.

Same place as your omega.

I repaired it myself when I got it. New crown stem and crown which I had in spare parts. Gave it a service and it’s good as new.

Great watch. Thanks for posting.

The photo of Bourke Street Mall really took me back to the Melbourne of my teens, a Melbourne long-gone

I remember the kerfuffle when Bourke St was made into a walking mall......
