My dealer offered me one today. I would like it, but would like to have your opinion or your experiences with this watch. What wood be a good price for this watch. It would be a new one with a folding clasp. Best regards
I'm assuming you're talking about this one? https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/...watch/grey-side-of-the-moon-meteorite/product It's a beautiful watch, and I was going to purchase that one, but ended up purchasing my SMP instead. Chrono24 has the watch listed anywhere between ~$10K - ~$13K. Purchasing new from OB or AD you would probably get a slight discount. The question is how much...?
It's spectacular in-person. I tried it on at an Omega Boutique in California a couple years back. It wore very comfortably, and its lug-to-lug made it manageable for a 6.75 wrist. The combination of the rose gold bezel ring, dial patterns, and red text is an A+ design in my view. Movement-wise, the actuation on its column-wheel chronograph is a notable upgrade over the 1861/1863. I'm not well-versed in all of the technical achievements of the 9300. But from a subjective user experience POV, the 'click/snap' of the 9300 chrono pushers felt much smoother than the 186x. If it was priced within a couple thousand of the standard moon-watch, I probably would've added it to my collection by now. But unfortunately it's priced at a 3x multiple over the standard moonwatch A couple years ago, I remember seeing grey-market FS offers for BNIB examples at 40% off the MSRP. I'd recommend the one with the clasp, over the tang buckle.
If it is the meteorite part you really like I think you should consider this one: For me it is the best combination of the traditional Speedmaster with a twist
Its the Apollo-Soyuz 35th Anniversary, ref 311.30.42.30.99.001 Fratello review: https://www.fratellowatches.com/the...ssional-apollo-soyuz-meteorite-reviewed/#gref
It's a cool piece, but does it work on your wrist? Are you interested in a ceramic watch with rose gold accents?
