Hello,

This is the watch of my wife.
We do not know anything about it. I Googled now about 2 weeks and could not find the desired OMEGA.

I didn't let it open to see the serial, but ai hope to get more info about model and maybe year of production.

It is from my grandma in law, and she said, she got it when she was a little girl. So around 60-70 years ago maybe.

Thank you in advance
Have a nice day
Best regards
Harry

Stylistically 1960s, probably a caliber 620 movement, OM marking on dial indicates a solid gold dial.

Meister is a well-known Zurich retailer of luxury goods.

Oh no, unfortunately someone has gone and installed the dial upside down.
😉

Seriously though, it is quite nice. I like it!

No worries, just having a little fun. Part of the initiation process. So far, you pass.

One really important thing I want to know, how many turns do I need to keep the watch running.
I never had a manual movement.

I never had a manual movement.

Just keep winding it, you will get the feel of normal winding, when it comes to a stop it is fully wound, don't try to force it beyond that.

If it's to be worn at all, it should be serviced to remove dried oils/grease and "stuff" that builds up in a watch over the years.
It will ensure good clean lubricants will keep it going for another five or so years when it will need to be serviced again.

It's a very nice example so worth looking after it.

The watch was not worn for at least 40 years. She got it, it did not work, she thought the battery is empty and put it into a box.

So is there a chance that somewhere or someone knows the model?

I want to take notes for the insurance.
Model and what it is worth.

Have a good start into 2021

Best regards

These typically did not have model names. They generally (but not always) do have model numbers inside the case. You will need to bring it to a watchmaker who can carefully open the back. Take pictures and report back to us. We might be able to direct you to Omega for more information.

Take care and Happy New Year.
