Beautiful art-deco case. Solid gold or gold-filled?

My guess is late 1930's or early 1940's.

If you don't know, take it to a watchmaker. They will be able to open it. Bring a good camera with a macro lens to take pictures.

There should be hallmarks inside the case that will indicate the gold content (or gold plating) and the fineness.

    Hope this helps,

Take it to a jeweler. They can do a test on it, but sometimes thicker gold plating will pass those tests.

They may also have the correct tools to open the watch. Otherwise, there is little we can do to help you.

I don't mean to he disrespectful, but how are we supposed to know the value without knowing if the case is gold, or even what type of movement is ticking inside.

It's like asking "I have a car. It's made by Ford. I can't open the hood or count the cylinders. How much is it worth?"

If you really want to find out. Put it on eBay and start it at one cent and let the bidding commence. I don't think it will go for much without full information on the case and movement.

Meet us halfway at least and maybe we can help.
