For those of you who own the Globemaster, did you buy it with the strap or the bracelet?

I bought it on the strap cause I thought I didn’t care for the bracelet, but I changed my mine later on and ended up getting the bracelet later. The smart thing to do would have been to get it on the bracelet and then pick up the strap afterwards cause the bracelet is more expensive, but I lucked out and got the bracelet at half the price.

If you’re thinking you might get both it would be cheaper to get it on the bracelet and try and get a deal on the strap.

I think it is a truly great watch, but I'm biased! Make sure you do your homework on market prices before committing to buy though. There should be plenty of room for negotiation at an AD, less so at an official boutique (but they can offer other fringe benefits)….which reminds me I should take mine in to get the water resistance checked.

Looking at the pictures more and more I am minded to treat myself with a metal Bracelet option to go with my leather strap. I am sure I have seen it on the forum before (my bad) but what is the part number / best place to source a bracelet from the UK? Many thanks.

This is the first pie pan dial I like, I cannot believe I’m saying that.

That blue is gorgeous! Beautiful watch man!

I would not get the DJ41as it wears to big for such an iconic watch. The traditional sizes just look way better.

That being said, I have repeatedly said if I ever had to work in an office again my first purchase would be a Globemaster. I think they are stunning pieces and massively under rated watches in Omega's current line up.

I love it. If it was thinner I would have bought it three years ago.

And yes, I already tried it on, multiple times.

I think this is also why I like the bracelet as the chunkiness of the bracelet feels balanced with the case thickness. The leather strap feels good too because it tapers, but Wearing it on a nato only makes the case feel thicker to me.

Either way the thickness doesn’t bother me when I’m wearing with a strap that feels substantial.

I find the Globemaster to be a nice solid watch, the problem is would I take it over a DJ41? No.

After seeing the DJ2 and Globemaster side by side in this Watchfinder and Co. comparison, I would definitely pick the Globemaster--I think it has a nicer bezel and cleaner lines (not to mention the more affordable pricing):

I guess it boils down to personal taste, but for me and not taking price in the equation the DJ41 blue dial, fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet hits a home run.

Have you seen a 41 in person next to the traditional sizes?

I prefer everything about the Globemaster except the hour markers. I prefer the thicker markers of the DJ. But that's the only thing.

That pics makes me want the blue one pretty badly now. I will compare to zenith defy...

Yes, 36mm wears far too small for me. I've owned both 36mm and the 41mm DJ.

Below is the DJ41 and as you can see the watch sits well on my wrist with no overhang of the lug to lug size and no links removed from the bracelet.
I'm considering a blue dial DJ41 as my next watch as it's the perfect all rounder, imo.

Not matter how often I check them out I just don’t connect to contemporary Rolex products; none of them, regardless of model, colour or price. The GM holds my interest more consistently.

There's little doubt the GM is a good watch but the bracelet lags behind the best in class just as many other Omega watches do.

The DJ is a solid timepiece but in my opinion the GM takes the crown.

The movement is far more advanced than the one found in the DJ. The GM also doesn't have that unsightly date window either. The Tungsten carbide bezel is a first and a blessing for scratch prone people like me.

The DJ has a great bracelet, amazing history and would retain value better due to the fact that it's a Rolex.

It's really up to the buyer on what they want. I know older DJ's can be found at prices comparable to the GM. But overall a GM on the forums or eBay should be cheaper than the DJ.

I agree that the cyclops is not for everyone, but it doesn't bother me at all. As for the movement in the DJ41, the 3235 is a match for any 3 hand automatic movement. All of this is neither here or there, but the issue of the bracelet won't go away and people are back to the same issue they have with the Aqua Terra and the Speedmaster in that the lack of fine adjustment on the clasp means you need to be lucky to get the correct fit. which is not the case with the DJ41 as it has the useful adjustable clasp.
