Am I right in thinking that apart from being in rough condition this is a redial? It went fairly cheaply at auction earlier and I was tempted to bid but ultimately the condition put me off and research since has shown me that the seconds track markings are off.

The reason I was dubious was that most of these have a cleaner seconds track ( see below) In fact I haven't seen one with so many "indices" on the outer track. Also the battons don't seem to have a vertical stripe upon them as most I have seen.

You haven't seen enough...

Yes, I'm willing to accept that but I have had a pretty good look.

Looks original. Is it the model with snap back rather than screw back though?

You see the second markers/indices more often on Seamaster/De Ville models. Here's an example of one I sold a few years ago.

I'm not sure pal. There was only the one photo. I felt it was a 135 077 screw back though. It's odd. At first glance I thought it was all right but then I thought there was a lack of lume pips at the top of indices. Then the seconds track looked too busy.

Not saying this to be mean, but there is so much to learn. I rarely leave here without some new insight.

I completely agree. I will readily admit I know very little really when it comes to Omega. I am seldom in a position to buy one so am on here really for the other watch info. I thought I had read this one right though but again it seems I am wrong.

Better to be wrong with your money still in your pocket Vs thinking you're right and making an expensive mistake 👍
You live to buy another day 😉

Aha. It appears I was barking up the wrong tree. This wasn't the reference I initially thought it was. It's actually a 131 ref. And lo and behold I found another.

I think the dial is legit, but I have some qualms about the condition. I suppose it could just be a really bad photo combined with crystal damage, but I probably would not have bought it based on that photo. For example, there are dark areas at the ends of some of the applied hour markers that look strange.

I agree. Hence my part of my initial suspicion.

Yeah the photos let it down a bit, dial was fine. The dark areas are shadows from the flash I guess. Ah well, someone will be pleased when they get it.(hopefully!)
