Afternoon all, I have been looking/thinking about purchasing a vintage Dynamic for a while, the retro case and styling has always appealed. This popped up on a local site and caught my attention. Listing says original crystal (logo visible) and strap with a 565 auto movment. I have looked through these links; https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-dynamic-dial-question.105465/ http://download1639.mediafire.com/adx761z5djwg/knazxmyqdzd/Omega Geneve Dynamic I .pdf which seems to confirm that is correct for the watch, I shall enquire if they can open the back so I can get more details, as well better resolution images as one image has had the contrast bumped compored to the others. One item that is throwing me is the second hand, I did reseach and I can find the same face, but the second hand is seems to be red/orange, has this been replaced? Thanks for the help.
the backs don't open on these models. gotta remove thru the crystal which makes it a bit more difficult to check the movement. the second hand is probably fine as many colors were used, blue being probably the most popular.
White sweeps are usually found on darker two-tone dials, according to Desmond's article, so I think it’s probably fine, but you may well also find similar dials with orange hands. Question is, do you like the watch? It’s a good model to have in the collection: quirky, fun and surprisingly versatile.
I do. The dial would work with a black/brown and SS strap which is a bonus. I have requested better images and an image of the crown as I can't see it in any of the images. My plan is for a 4 watch Omega collection, this being 2 of 4.
Regardless of the color, the shape of the second hand is incorrect which is normally orange on this and similar grey dials.
Which were my thoughts after the research. Thanks for the information. Would a €350 +/- deal be worth it?
Keep in mind that the original non metal straps are extremely hard to find (I think they were made of Corfam) There are aftermaket ones but I don't know how well made they are. The same goes for the steel bracelets. You can't just fit any old bracelet on these special cases. Just FYI
Thanks for the heads up, this I know, and reading through a few threads indicates that they are available and to watch out for fake versions on Etsy/Ebay, however Omega did/do sell original versions.
Thanks. With an untrained eye, face is correct, hands are new, as having looked again and again, they are far too bright and white to be original? Once again, thanks for all the information.
Yes. Second hand is wrong shape and not a colour I have ever seen matched to that dial. All the hands are way too bright. Is is worth 350 ? Not if you only intend to have a 4 watch collection. It's not good enough to be a long term keeper & you'll probably end up selling it.
Then I shall move on and try to fins another, hopefully on this forum (missed a few thanks to festive holidays). Thanks all.
