The reference number inside the caseback will be needed to identify the crystal.

It will probably look like 166.XXX or 366.XXX.

Hi !
It just so happen that I met the same problem .. same watch .. I was looking for an Omega Crystal sitting a bit lower than the crystal presently on the watch (not an Omega crystal) .. information received from official Omega was "not available anymore" ... I then went to an operation specialized in restauration here in Brussels (namely Aneca An-Hor, you find it very easily on Google) .. they still have both Official Omega crystal for this type of watch ou alternatively an aftermarket generic .. both must be metal reinforced. The cost for the crystal installation included is 85.€ for the omega one and 45.€ for the other.
In any case, they must first make sure they have the right crystal .. hence you should send all necessary references prior to send the watch.
Good luck !

May I be curious what Omega charges for one, or is that classified information? It’s just to get an idea, as I can see they are available online for ~50-55USD and I was wondering if there’s a huge gap to the price asked for by Omega.

That's cheap - Omega currently asks more than that for these crystals...

Thank you @Archer
My watch maker recently said that he doesn’t care if I bring him spare parts or if he orders them from Omega, as he only charges for the work and doesn’t add a premium on the cost of the material. So I took this example to ask about it. Appreciate your reply. 😀

No idea why they said this - all they had to do was look it up on the Omega Extranet as I did, and it's right there. Should make no difference where they look it up from...

Note that Omega uses a different shape of tension ring that most generic crystals do, so using a generic may cause problems with the way the movement seats in the case, and may cause damage to the perimeter of the dial. If you don't care enough about the watch, that fine, but at least be aware of the issues generics can cause.

Is this watch a family piece?

If not, unless you love it to death, I might ask whether it's worth speding any money on...

Would you leave it with a cracked crystal??
I came out of my late watch maker grandfathers to do draw it wasn’t in his collection so there is no family attachment
I care about the watch enough to replace the crystal but it’s not worth Spending £50 on
Sorry to keep asking but does anyone know the sternkreuz reference number so I can order one from cousins
