Would you leave it with a cracked crystal??
I came out of my late watch maker grandfathers to do draw it wasn’t in his collection so there is no family attachment
I care about the watch enough to replace the crystal but it’s not worth Spending £50 on
Sorry to keep asking but does anyone know the sternkreuz reference number so I can order one from cousins

Archer already answered your question, it's a PX5200. There's some for sale on eBay. As mentioned, original is better.

When you can get a genuine Omega crystal, why would you insist on Sternkreuz? They make good stuff, but a genuine Omega crystal is going to fit better.

Have you seen how beat up the lugs are on that? It’s a bit of a basket case. I guess he’s thinking that he doesn’t want to spend a quarter of the value of the watch on a crystal before flipping it.

I asked a question
I explained I didn’t think the watch warranted having £50 spent on it
Then this nasty reply
Yes I will sell it every body sells things I am sure your do

Will a £50 crystal make this watch worth £50 more?
And sorry if I have offended anyone but I will be “flipping it” as paddy so eloquently Put it
Is that wrong?
Do people on this forum not “flip” things?

Nasty? In what way? You asked for a part number and were given it. Clearly the part was too expensive so is it unreasonable to assume that the overall cost is a consideration? Are you disputing that in the photo the plating is heavily worn through on the lugs? This is often seen when that kind of expanding bracelet is used. I wasn't criticising you for selling it ( if the word flip offends then by all means substitute sell), merely pointing out to the others why you aren't so keen on the outlay for a genuine crystal. It is not a collector piece and this is a collector forum, so the opinions you are likely to receive are in the main those a collector would hold.

Fitting in the case is not the issue - it's the tension ring as I've noted.

Generic ring on the left doesn't have the proper step in it that the genuine ring on the right does. This step is what the dial seats into, so without it the movement can sit further back in the case, and the perimeter of the dial can be damaged. Won't be your problem after the watch is sold though I guess.

I will use the original tension ring

But saying this it doesn’t look as if the crystal that’s fitted is original

Probably not
I have re-used tension rings on cwc and Hamilton w10’s without a problem
Are omega ones special?
But as I say the crystal fitted doesn’t appear to be original anyway

I fitted a crystal from cousins £6
The old crystal was Omega there wasn’t a step in the tension ring
