    Howdy folks,
I was antique shopping the other day, and as I normally do, I was hunting around for any watches I might find. I came across a jar of assorted jewelry, all of it garbage, except for an apparent Omega inside. I knew right away that It must be purchased, so for 18$, I bought the jar. I took it home, cleaned up the case, polished the crystal, put one of my home-made leather straps on it, and examined the movement. It really is in beautiful condition, naturally some faint scuffs on the case, very light crystal scratching, and has so far kept stellar time. However, I have been doing some research online and have yet to find anything exactly like it. It is a caliber 420, and as far as I can figure, it is a late 1950's Seamaster. The case comes in at 32mm (35 including the crown), 9 1/2mm tall, and 16mm lug width. I'd greatly appreciate any information on it, as well as an Idea of what it may be worth.
    Thanks!

If you weren’t a die hard collector before your find, this should do it. One might wonder how others before you might have missed that Omega. Every collectible watch overlooked by someone who didn’t know, leaves one for a collector. Been there myself.

Serial number places it around 1952. For $18 you can't go wrong!

Thanks, here's a picture of the inside of the case back, the outside surface is bare. I observed no service etchings.

    Nice find

You can search using the 2667 reference to find information, and to get an idea on value look on eBay at sold listings for the ref. 2667. My guess would be around $350-400 as it’s very attractive. Here’s the info from the Omega vintage database.

It looks great in the pic of you wearing it. You could sell it and make a very nice profit. Or you could keep it and enjoy the buzz every time you look at it and think "Yesss! I got this little beauty for $18!" You can't get that buzz any other way...

I have a very similar watch

It was my first ever vintage watch purchase. Same case and great lugs, but serial is much later - my guess is that Omega had to clear out some old cal 420,s from their inventory

I suspect its a redial however - but still like the explorer layout - so all in all still happy for my first newbie purchase

Movement runs to 1s per day deviation - stunning accuracy
