I am actually a bit shocked looking on how ashley taking out a clear plastic bag with many small ziplock sandwich bags inside holding sm cal 320, smpp, speedy 105.002 etc.
I've been trying to buy a Hodinkee watch roll but they've been out of stock for a while, I was also concerned about a few of them getting wet in Singapore's rain so I went with the plastic
I love those but they're too darn expensive. I'm a cheapskate. I like this one but I never could justify spending that kind of money on one. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=281216505540Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
I confess to using regular leather watch rolls. They're easier to stuff into the safe, and easy to take watches in and out of. Sadly they're a B-minus aesthetically, and watches with straps and deployants don't fit in too well
I got my mum to make me a watch roll. Bigger than standard, so everything goes in nicely. I considered it fair payment for 20 years IT support...
I paid $40 for this years ago. They're around $50 now, and you can get larger 4 and 8 watch cases too.
Omega Forum Singapore 2014 Gathering report: On February 8th 2014, four Omega forum members (well 3 members and a moderator ) got together in Singapore to meet and share watches collection passion, especially in Omega vintage. Our host, NT931 and Gavin kindly arranged a very nice Italian restaurant at Regent Hotel for gathering place. NT931 came first, I joined him at 12:15. We reintroduce each other and start the watch talking First topic our own SMP titanium electric blue and Great White Then moving to NT931 nice collection: Seamaster sparkle and Omega Art deco Soon our moderator, dsio came with bad news. He was just hit by a notorious taxi who try to overtake a line. His backpack with a Mac and his watches collection was thrown away and dropped to the ground (Nooooo......are they allright?.....gladly, yes they are). His ankle also got hurt. Fortunately there were temporary pain killer available: more nice vintage watches Soon Gavin joined the gang ...and watch porn began showing at the table
Did Dirty Ashley pull his .44 Magnum and put six shots in the windshield of that taxi? Hey now, we're members first and moderators second.
The first group in show is golden dressy watches. During this photo shoot, an attractive lady from our next table coming to peek and say hello. She openly admire ONLY these golden dressy watches. I have strong urge to move to her table with all these golden watches , until I realize I was not the one she targeted (well from their table they can only see my back). I am also sure she wasn't into NT931,too because his wed ring was big and clear enough to be seen from 2 tables away . So either Gavin or dsio, but boy, they missed the opportunity . Very beautiful 18k PG Cal 320 chronograph Seamaster Pie Pan date at 6 mirror dial Seamaster Pie Pan date at 6 stepped dial .... and also a very beautiful 18K Pink Gold Longines Conquest Deluxe Somehow longines Pink Gold material color is more charming my Grandluxe PG and dsio cal 320 It has redder hue.
The next in show is the Speedy pro group The Speedy pre moon Beautiful patina and alpha hands of 2998-61 The Speedy Pro group
.......and for non Omega chronograph lovers....... Beautiful zenith A386 Photogenic blue dialled Zenith El Primero Zenith vintage 1969 reissue Movado Astronic Zenith black dial dsio Rolex daytona
.....and of course obligatory photo shot for happy closing of our gathering. We hope Omega forum could make this kind gathering regularly around the world (Asia/Australia, US, Europe). View attachment 41012
During the trip to Jakarta, I visited an Omega boutique in Changi Airport Terminal 1. I was looking to try speedy DSOM, which unfortunately they didn't carry. There are several other limited edition watches such as Speedy Meteorite, Speedy Alaska and an Omega museum collection no 9 in WG, which is very nice.
