As this is all purely hypothetical - surely a black faced date at 6 pie-pan ?

Black face yes. Date, no. (IMHO)

Highlights? Gold or silver indexes etc?

Red "Omega Forum" script? (Except for @dsio, he gets brown for pooping on the concept.)

I have actually been working on and off on a watch concept (let’s call it that) for a couple of minutes.

The watch world is full of Kickstarter start-ups most of which are nothing special and just consist og “catalogue parts” put together. This however will be different.

This is the latest iteration. I haven’t decided on a movement yet but have decided the number of jewels. The water resistance is also pretty much settled on as this will be a true diver.

I am particularly proud of the dual crown system, which I think is a first ever: one for winding the watch (right) and one for unwinding it (left).

Strap is just generic at this point.

What do you think?
Definite redial.

...you can tell by the lume.

I think there is a good point here... why a Speedmaster for this forum? There are so many other choices, in many ways a piepan makes for sense...

Not the Globemaster, but something that really nails it... Grey Soliel dial, either no date, or day/date at 3. Maybe a C case, but a new case style I would guess is not part of the plan.

I wonder if something like this would be possible with the new Manhattan series. Seems like it might be a good way to combine the integrated bracelet and pie pan aesthetic while shelving the romans. Would require fewer parts to be switched as well versus a completely new model.

(still in Camp Connie for this hypothetical)

This thread of horrors will be handy when one of you Dr. Frankensteins is next belittling some actual Omega design ...

PS: if there’s ever an OF watch that isn’t a Flightmaster I’m changing my contribution from Tier 2 to Tier 1 (which is worse than it sounds)

There is no lume yet. How ever it would be cool with Vantablack numerals on Vantablack surroundings on a Vantablack dial with Vantablack hands. So unless you used a very powerful lightsource, you would never be able to tell time

Spat out another quick sketch ::stirthepot::

Was thinking this would probably be a titanium/black ceramic combo or such. Somewhat like the double eagle?

This is like when they hold the stock market to let the crazy cool down.

Thank god, because I had spent all this time on a mock-up and wouldn’t have anywhere to post it

How about adding a big date a la A. Lange to that beauty? Then you would have yourself one gorgeous watch

I’m thinking ‘Rolex’. Ie a new sub, but with an old hulk-like colored sunburst dial and ceramic bezel (no date!), all in yellow or orange or some fab color that has never been seen or will never be seen on a Rolex sub again.

X-33 skywalker with custom-engraved case back would be one relatively easy option to consider... LE of 200 or so...
😗
25 years Speedmaster X-33 in spaceflight just passed... February 1996-2021 as a Swiss astronaut wore the prototype X-33 on STS-75
But if we count the official " Live In-flight " presentation onboard the Mir space station, March 23, 1998... we have untill 2023
