Black Dial is ipnotic, have some soleil effect
Case is thin and very portable
Hands and Lugs are charming in their vintage inspiration
Carrure give a unique touch
Marks are blinding
Lume is simple and functional
Weekness? Not for me
The perfect dress watch at this price and more.
Well done, Bruno, good choice, good summary. Why not more love for these? I have no idea. Here is a white-dial, different case-material cousin for your super piece. I would love to see yours again when it gets its "armadillo"!

Thanks dear.
I think the watch trend hits other parameters:
In Italy 90% of micro brands create diver watches over 38mm.
In five years a lot of people start to understand to have bought big pan not watch 😗

The watch running good +3 sec in 12h, but the reserve power is too short, only 16 hours.

It needs a service (the last on 2012)

@SkunkPrince Omega boutique writes me that the “armadillo” bracelet is still available at 1900€ 😵‍💫😁
I think I will wait a rare sale on the bay (months ago I had the possibility to bought it at 800€😡)

I don't blame you! I got mine some years ago before Omega raised the prices on everything.

That's a lovely watch with the alligator band, but it will be beautiful with the Armadillo! I've had mine from new and I've worn it almost every day since I got it. The band, also the 1601-942, is very comfortable and the watch goes perfectly with everything from jeans to a tuxedo. I love watches, as machines and as jewelry, but I've never seen one I love more than the one I have.

@STTRobertson
I’m absolutely agree with u. Are u sure that a 1601/942 bracelet could fit with this reference?
Had u try it?

I repost Omega official customer care answer to my question:

we confirm that the two terminals correspond to different reference of the De Ville model.
In particular, the 943 terminal is suitable for the case data only timepiece, while the 942 coincides with the case of the model with chronograph or GMT complication which is slightly larger, although the lug size is still 19 mm.

It is therefore possible that the two case attachments have different characteristics to lend themselves to cases of different sizes and thicknesses (with an additional complication it involves a greater thickness).

To ensure correct sealing and fit, we recommend opting for the original terminal.

Mine has always had the bracelet it has now, which is the 1601/942 Armadillo you see in the photo. It's possible that I had the jeweler upgrade the bracelet at the time I bought the watch in 2004. I remember specifically choosing that bracelet, but I don't remember if I added it to the watch I liked, or if I just requested the watch I liked that came with that bracelet.

I think the watch came with that bracelet, but it's also possible that I had the jeweler upgrade the bracelet at the time I bought the watch in 2004. I'll see if I can find the paperwork. But the bracelet definitely fits the watch.

I noticed a small difference between your watch and mine, and I don't know if matters at all as far as the band is concerned - they look identical, except where yours says "Automatic" on the face, mine says "Chronograph". I'm not sure what the difference is, if any, to the case.

Sorry, it doesn't say "Chronograph", it says, "Chronometer".

yes, yours has another reference (4831.5131) but I think that is the same watch.
