I picked this up recently, its a 168.005 from ~1963 AKA pie pan dog leg Connie. It has a bit of dial speckling but really like the rose furniture with the steel case. The lugs and medallion are very sharp too so overall I am very happy.

The cyclops is unusual, and seemingly original since it has the older logo in the middle. This one is a bit crazed, can these still be sourced does anyone know*? I guess the alternative is the plain version but I like the quirkiness.

ps never look at a watch under a loupe if you want to keep your sanity, you'll not like what you find!

* I have tried the usual suspects like Cousins etc but haven't found the cyclops mentioned, maybe it was a 60s thing.

Loupe shot of logo and crazing.

I have a new old stock Omega glass with cyclops somewhere.

Cheers, Michael

Ah, sorry.
Mine is 31.9mm
I will have a good look this evening when I get a minute, I have 100s of other Omega glasses to look through.

Cheers, Michael

I've just done the same with my Connie (same gauge lol) and got a crystal diameter fitted at the bezel of 30.5mm, I guess it could be wider when loose if they are interference fit, ie the 30.6mm No Mercy suggests could is likely correct. I would be grateful if you could have a look at your stash.

Cheers

063PZ5015 is the plain version of the crystal.

063PZ5015L - the "L" at the end designates it as having an "eyeglass" as Omega calls it. It is readily available from Omega.

If it has "LL" then it's for a day/date model and has the wider lens to accommodate that.

I wish my geriatric watchmaker circa 2017 was as knowledgeable as you - according to him the L version of the crystal has been unavailable for years! And he has an Omega parts account, having been trained on the Omega 5xx and 30mm movements as his bread and butter.

If he has access to the Omega Extranet (requires a computer obviously) it's all there easily seen. These things aren't kept secret to anyone who has the access.

Hi - how much would these normally sell for? After another one, same diameter 30.6mm for a old seamaster ref 166.010 / 168.024. Cheers - Keith
