    Evening all,

Anyone one got any experience with crown issues on omega seamasters. Wondering how easy it is to have one replaced/ what kind of problem is likely to be causing the crown to not close.

Does the cost of a replacement vary depending on model. Is it best to steer clear of a vintage in need of a new crown?

    Thanks

Too vague, not enough info. Which reference, what type of crown? Please post photos and more detailed information. What exactly is your problem? Some people will tell you to replace the old crown to get better water resistance and others will tell you to keep the old crown for originality.

It’s an omega seamaster pre bond the number on the case back is 368 1061 - is that the correct way to find out the type of crown ? Not bought it atm as it’s an auction.

Auction simply says the crown is screwed on but cannot be closed. Not been able to get more info from the seller.

If it's stripped, you may need a new crown, a new crown tube, or both. I would assume it needs repair by a watchmaker.

Reference number will tell a supplier what parts are needed

As Dan said. New case tube or crown. Best to buy both at the same time just in case

With stripped threads threads like this, you always replace both the case tube and crown...
