hi.
i have my very untrained eye on this omega constellation but i am not sure about the dial.
the price is 520€ so its quite cheap for a constellation if the dial is not a redial but feel free to correct me.
i really hope you can help me
thanks in advance.

I’d pass. For a couple of hundred more you could probably get one with a decent dial.
I could live with the case and hands but not that dial.

Not a redial but the dial does have other issues going on which make it unappealing. As above spend a little more and wait for a decent example.

It doesn’t look like a redial but the dial looks damaged. The date wheel has discoloured in (imo) a very unappealing way.
I’d pass and spend more on a decent example.
I suspect you’d end up regretting buying this

Agree with everything being said here. If you want a Constellation, any Constellation, I’d always advise getting one that looks nice enough to wear as a proper dress watch - as they were intended. There are better examples out there and I wouldn’t compromise!

Agree with all of the foregoing. Save your money and look for a better example. If price is a concern, a C case Connie is your best bet, as you've probably already discovered.

The dial may been touched up in few places to repair damage to letters.

Very good observation. I didn’t notice it. But how is it possible? Because of different materials maybe? Or, did someone take the date wheel from other watch and moved to this one?

I was about to say that I don't think that some of the dial issues are down to a very poor crystal, but it does look like the dial is unevenly sat in the case - and that there are damage to the edges of it. Good dial condition on a dress watch is paramount, IMO.

These come up in very decent condition for not a whole lot more, so the asking price is pretty optimistic.

What are your conclusions after doing your research and looking at 3-400 pictures of confirmed authentic Constellations?

@jambon what do you think of it? Case condition, dial condition/originality?

It helps if you share your thoughts to get the conversation going, even if you’re not particularly experienced.

I find the dial in too poor condition again. As @ConElPueblo says, a Constellation is a dress watch and so it should be in good shape unless you’re looking at a very rare example or on a very tight budget. Tool watches on the other hand can generally get away with more patina/damage.

to the best of my knowledge the case is pretty polished and could be in way better shape.
the dial definitely has som damage and could be in better condition.
i think the dial is original but of course not anything special.
but i think the price is quite cheap but i am not 100 percent sure about that.
i am no expert so feel free to correct me if i am wrong
