Hello my friends

I'm closing a deal on this 168005 pie pan with clover crown and I would like to have your evaluation. I don't see anything wrong with except that inner ring gap (highlighted in the picture). is it something normal?

Holy cow, that's bad. I was gonna start listing stuff that's wrong with it, but... it's everything.

@Zayn A. please do not take this as an offense, but you might want to do some reading before pulling the trigger on any further vintage Omegas.

@Zayn A.
You need to slow down and take your time.
This is an atrocious watch.
Fake dial
Heavily polished case ( not sure if it is genuine)
Wrong crown
Mash up movt
Wrong case back. ( for a date version)

Zayn, I think that I speak for a number of other members here when I say that you need to SLOW DOWN and take the time to learn more about vintage Omegas and specifically how to identify a good vintage purchase from a poor one. Every watch that you have posted so far has had serious issues and it’s clear to me that while you are enamored with vintage Omegas (good), you haven’t acquired the knowledge yet to know the right watch at the right price when you see it (bad). Without that knowledge, you are very likely going to overpay for a watch with a refinished dial, an overpolished case, a tired movement, or an outright fake. IN SHORT, TAKE YOUR TIME. If you want a vintage Constellation, then read Desmond’s blog as another poster suggested, identify the model that you want, read everything that you can find about it online, including as many threads on OF as may apply, watch YouTube videos (the Omega Enthusiast has some good ones, but don’t buy a watch there), and check the sold listings on eBay and Watchcharts.com to get a better idea of a fair price range for the model that interests you. You are doing one thing right and that is to ask questions here on OF. Keep doing that, but otherwise, PLEASE SLOW DOWN. 😀

Agreed with the others. Stop hyperfocusing on purchasing because you obviously care about the originality of watches. All you are doing at the moment is begging for charity (by asking for others' opinions about watches) and not doing any homework yourself. Doesn't help that you have no posts on here (contributions) where you introduce yourself or give to the community in any way. At the moment you are only taking from OmegaForums, while refusing to learn anything about these watches. Go learn a bit and pump the brakes on buying since you do not know anything about Vintage Omega watches if youl even considered purchasing this watch for one second.

Since you've kindly compiled a list, let me add:

fake buckle
fake or at least incorrect hands

The repro buckle I could live with, but the rest of the watch is a train wreck.

not sure if it is genuine

I'm glad you're writing this @Peemacgee. I wasn't sure, either. The finishing on the inside of the case back, but also the medallion look fishy to me.

That watch is a 3-time loser.

1. Fake dial
2. Fake case
3. Non-chronometer movement.

Seller should be called out.

I almost gave you your first "like" for this post, but I think you need to do a little more to earn it. 😉

My right leg is a bit longer after the OP's latest posting. And I smell a whiff of incredulity in the air.....

This piece is from a local watch shop in istanbul. I'm exploring around the city and asking around and not many are available like on ebay

Perhaps you can find a group of watch collectors. Most watches sitting around in shops have probably been sitting there for a long time ... for good reason. In my experience, anything good sells quickly to regular customers.
