No hi, no please, no thanks, no "why". "Looks good" isn't research. Have you compared it to other examples of the reference you found with a simple google search?
Why would people here sit down, evaluate the watch and type their conclusion for someone they know zero about, someone who doesn't even bother to use simply pleasentries and, so it seems at this point but I'll happily stand corrected, hasn't even tried him/herself?
Manners matter. You have to understand: we are old and grumpy folks. It's winter - cold weather exacerbates the symptoms of arthritis and you couldn't say please or thank you?
Note to OP, next time just say it was your dear departed grandfather's watch with unlimited sentimental value, and people will be crawling over each other to be nice to you. Or better yet, pretend to be a woman asking about buying a gift for your husbands birthday.
