Hello everyone!

Looking for some advice on this omega constellation pie pan. It has had a redial (see pic before/after) do you think it's a good or bad job?
And how much would you be willing to pay for it?

Welcome @henrybrown

The dial was pretty much shot before the redial but the redial isn’t very good.

However, what have they done to the case?
The bezel is so badly polished that I thought it was a different case altogether.
I’d hate to think what they have done to the medallion.

Please don’t spend your money on this watch unless it is a couple of hundred dollars (i.e the value of the movt. )

Ouch. The font/print is very heavy. Very few redials are good and although not terrible, this isn’t a good one. Then again, is any redial good?

I’ve got to echo @Peemacgee comments about the case. Although collectors don’t like redials, you can understand why this was done. But they have absolutely butchered what was an ok case.

Yeah I believe the case has been way over polished but what can you point out on the face that is so unlike an orignal?

If it was then it would be hard to tell and be expressed as an example of a good factory dial.

I'll have more photos of it in the coming days. But from what I've been googling and comparing in my opinion, the 'constellation' has the correct font, the cross hair seem accurate, along with the minute markers aswell as every 5 min being thicker. All be the font is slightly thicker. I've seen alot worse. Any more opinions I'm still new to the 🙌🙌

Sorry - the... what?
Btw you really have had good advice from very knowledgeable collectors earlier. Welcome to the forum, and take your time.
Look for some fine crosshairs on original examples, and don't underestimate the importance of an untampered case.
Enjoy the ride!

Look at the details, and look closely. The script is slightly wonky, there are small differences everywhere. Top is your watch, bottom is an original dial.

You won’t need any more opinions once some of the elders here have replied. Having looked at literally thousands of dials, they have a highly trained eye. That‘s why to some people here, this is clearly a redial after merely a glance, while to the less experienced eye the writing might look similar.

Learn Originals..... by looking at yours, one very easy "tell" is by just looking at the 60 minute markers, they are all wonky and uneven and spaced all over the place.

We all started where you are, soak in the knowledge of those before you, there are many threads devoted to Constellations, the learning curve is steep, and will take time, Grasshopper.
