Hi everyboady. I have found this omega constellation with mechanism 561 wich is different form the other 561 i always see. What do you think about this omega? Thx
Hello and welcome here, the movement had the bridge or the hole movement swapped. The dial got some ugly lume on that wasn't there before. I would search for another Constellation Pie Pan. Mine says hello. Read this blog to know what to look for. http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.com/?m=1
I realise that this is a subject which causes debate, but whatever that is, it isn't a pie pan dial, it's a dome dial. There are several major issues there including no adjusted text, dodgy lume, what looks like a trapped gasket between movement and dial etc etc.
The "SWISS MADE" is different on the OPs watch (and it's the only thing that smells like redial) and obviously the dial on the OPs watch is too large for the case. So yes, why not?
I would have guessed it to be a .004/010 dial as I seem to remember them coming in this style, but perhaps I was wrong
where did you find this dial? It certainly has the same indices - which I was going to say I’d never seen on a Connie. They must be uncommon as there are none like this in the jumbo Connie thread. More so if @Shabbaz didn't recognise the indices style. @Banner Roar ? I think you do find .004s with the ‘faux’ pie pan dial but as above I’ve never seen these indices on any Connie but I’m not au fait with the jumbo Connie dials, which do appear to have outliers in their stable of dials. I think the case back is genuine - the SGR caseback perlaging does look like a spiral when viewed from a distance Overall the watch is a mystery, peculiar dial, messed around movt. - a definitive pass at any price, never mind at $1500 But let's welcome and thank @Mere4801 for posting it so that we can pick it apart - not much else to do at the moment
Google images https://tokei.blog/omega/15870. Seems legit? There’s also this one with the same dial. None of the regular models seem to fit so it got me thinking of the Jumbos. As you say it’s a bit of a mystery and would be an interesting puzzle to solve.
