As Zapatta suggests, your best source of information and experts who can evaluate a prospective purchase is right here on OF. A black dialed pie pan Constellation with a solid gold case in good original condition is going to be a very tall order to fill. Be very wary of redials as the dials on most vintage black dialed Constellations have been refinished. Here's my 1959 reference 14393. Original black dial with gold dial furniture, but a stainless steel case.

I think most interested parties will click on your thread hoping to see a black pie pan dialled 18k Constellation.

Only patience and fairly deep pockets will be the answer to your question.

Reinforcing what @gbesq said - beware of ALL black dialled Constellations unless you know the ins and outs of the real thing.

Agreed, good ones can take a long, long time to find....and we are talking years, not days, weeks or months!

I’m not sure the problem is the depth - it’s what the OP is diving into that is the real problem....😁

Sometimes, you have to buy 2 to make it one.😁

This one got sold fairly quickly for over €8k by a Japanese dealer. Ok, it’s not a normal black dial 😀.

Now that OP is anyway diving deep, might as well ad hobnail or honeycomb to the criteria
