Hello everyone,

Recently i recover an omega constellation ref 166.0247 with cal 1020 (Non-COSC) but the gold medallion in the case back (with observatory) is missing... 🤬🤬
Where i can buy one or is it possible to build an other ( CAD, 3D PRINTING, foundry mold then hand finishing)?
Had anyone had the same problem ?

Have a nice day

welcome @neuromega

I think you probably mean 166.0247?

medallions for Constellations do occasionally come adrift but are very difficult (impossible) to find

there were some base-metal ones kicking around eBay at one time -but I don't know if you can still find them

if you really want to replace it, your best bet might be to find a trashed version of your watch and reclaim the case back

Ok tanks for the answer.

Anything is possible but I'm not sure it would be worth the hassle.
You would have to find a really mint example to take a cast -but even then the details wouldn't be sharp -which is why (thankfully) it's quite easy to spot the fake watch cases that wash through the markets.

In saying that, the medallions I mentioned previously weren't too bad IIRC - so somebody did a half decent job - they just had an odd grainy finish and weren't quite the correct colour for gold

Can a watchmaker with an Omega parts account get them from Omega?

the medallion is not seen as a separate part from the case back.
missing medallions are a perennial problem, so I’m guessing the answer is no.
I’m sure @Archer could clarify this if he would be so kind to.

In my experience Ebay and a lot of patience are your friends. I had a 2782 missing it's medallion and it took about 3 years of searching to find a replacement case back. I've never seen genuine gold medallion loose for sale,

I think on the cases that you see around in good overall shape but missing the medallion they came loose and were somehow lost, and on the trashed cases with missing medallions they were prised off and melted for the gold.

Not the medallion, but the case back with the medallion is available:
