Hi, I would like to share with you guys my new acquisition - the Constellation F300hz réf 198 003- announced all original (crown, crystal, caseback, hands, dial and bracelet)
The best surprise was indeed the bracelet because it is a 1039 (EL 516) 😀

Anyway I have few questions if someone can help I would appreciate 👍
1- I have no idea of the production period - I can't see a S/N like in mechanical movement, any thoughts?
2- there is no date engraved on the clasp - 1039 + N°13 - what does it mean?

now few pictures 🍿

Why not? It is right there under where it says Omega 1250, and over where it says unadjusted. Although I can't quite make it out in the picture.

@Pvt-Public You're right 🤦 I didn't seen it before, thank you 👍
The S/N starts with 32xxxxxx so circa 1970 if I am referring to the link provided by @Jwit 📖

I'm curious about your case back... or I should say my case back. Mine does not have the observatory in it. It is a simple blank case without any markings or engravings.

Does anyone happen to know when these were changed or why there is any variation?

Hey @JC75 - nice macros. It's obvious you have at least a half decent camera and are handy with it. Diffuse your light source a little and the pics will be a little less harsh.

@ulackfocus Thank you for the advice, I will be more careful with the light source next time 👍
I actually use my iPhone 6S + the macro kit from Olloclip 😁

As far as I understand constellations should have the observatory... blank backs tended to go on geneve/no model f300s.

GTFO! That's incredible detail for any phone camera. 👍

I wonder what Omega was thinking in those days when it came to marketing. The above watches are very high quality (case, movement, etc.) but so similar yet represent three families: Seamaster, Constellation and f300 (?). Anybody has an idea?

Hmmmm I'm guessing my case back may be incorrect then... time to do some research and maybe source a correct one.

Yours is a 198.003 though - so maybe smooth casebacks were provided as an option for adding engravings?

One is for sale at the moment on Ebay with a black dial - like yours no observatory on the caseback.

Some of the early models came without the medallion on the case back.

Does anyone else find it odd that OPs watch has a 1039/516 bracelet?

The bracelet is probably worth more than the watch. 😉
