The whole point of a discussion forum is to discuss.
If you choose to start a conversation, on an open forum, you can’t decide what direction that conversation takes.
Your watch is interesting- and as I said, very much an outlier and worth discussing.
Others were concerned about some of the details of the watch but you have now stopped the conversation before it was drawn to a conclusion.
Your choice of course but still very bad form.
Tut tut. Not a wrongun are you Wiz? Good luck with selling anything on here in future if you don’t want your watches to be scrutinised. I see this isn’t the first thread where you show petulance when the discussion doesn’t go your way and reach for the delete button. Interesting behaviour.
Yep, my choice.
I didnt ask for legit check, and this was not my thread asking for identification so I didnt start a conversation, I just posted my watch.
Dont worry, you can see some small % of my collection in WRUW topic from the days when I felt like posting more frequently to see that I own many and I'm experienced and knowleadgable vintage collector. I'm not interesting in selling. Think what you want, I'm not going to spam here any longer.
Well an experienced and knowleadgable collector won’t need our future help with trivial matters like ‘is it real’ and ‘what’s it worth’ which seem to make up most of your previous threads.
You have the whiff of an amateur dealer mate. Or a chancer.
Not true, I was just curious about it, asking questions doesn’t mean you don’t know much yourself. You may just want to know each others opinion.
Again, funny that you refer to one or two topics ignoring many others proofing my collection, and I never sold anything and you call me amateur dealer. I just love superficial judgments 😀
This just goes to show how careful you have to be in this hobby. To those of you looking to buy one of these (and many other commonly faked models), if you don’t have the 10k hours of expertise, then you need someone - unbiased - by your side that does. The forum is still a helpful source for that; we have no skin in the game.
We all know there are examples on this forum of flawed evaluations and hasty judgments. Given the complexities of manufacturing back then and the many non-standard cases, it really calls for a measured approach rather than an overly confident tone. Transition periods, distortions resulting from the quality of the photograph or the refraction of light and many other factors should be considered.
But what I see far more often is a matter of routine, group of people where opinions are echoed just because you think it should be like this. And sometimes it is, but sometimes not. Just as one has to watch out for fakes, one also needs to be wary of superficial assessments.
It’s a pity, because as a collector I would love to learn everything possible about this transitional model. Yet, instead, I see people making definitive pronouncements based on just a single photo so, I'll drop the topic of analysis on this forum.
