1000045580.jpg 1000045575.jpg Good morning

I am new here after obtaining my first vintage Omega being the titled example.

I have a couple of questions that I hope someone can help with.

The glass is quite scratched and was wondering if the scratches could be polished out using polywatch scratch remover? I think the glass is Plexiglas, hesalite. There is a tiny omega logo in the middle of the face.....but who am I to know!

Many thanks, i have posted a photo.

They look like scratches not cracking which is a good sign. If it is a plexiglass crystal you will need to sand off the scratches first. I use a 1200 grit sandpaper wet and dry, wet it and sand the scratches out. Once they are gone, it will look cloudy. Use polywatch a few times and a clean micro fibre cloth and it should come up very clean and clear.

Polywatch is the correct thing to use. Toothpaste can also yield good results.
Go sparingly treat the case to crystal seal as if you expect it to leak like a sieve - it is a vintage watch.
