Hello everyone, recently I am passionate about the world of vintage Omega timepieces and I am evaluating the purchase of this Constellation but I do not have the tools to understand its goodness. I thank in advance all the fans who will be able to help me.
Welcome to OF @And23real If you want to get into collecting Constellations then the tools you require can be found in these links: http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.com/ https://omegaforums.net/threads/vintage-constellations-show-and-tell.19186/ https://omegaforums.net/threads/show-me-your-2852-connie.94709/
I find it very acceptable, to be honest Obviously restored, but not horribly so and probably more than good looking without too much magnification.
The part that should stand out most to an observer is the crude lettering. It is far from as precise as on an original. The crosshairs are typically a fair bit too thick on restored dials, it is not too bad here, IMO.
I think it´s an acceptable refinish. The focus on the the first picture, is where "Constellation" is placed and slowly decreasing. The OMEGA logo with text is not in focus, causing a blurred apperance. The price should of course reflect the refinsh.
Guys ... you are incredible, I thank you all immensely for the time you have dedicated to me and for the details that you have pointed out to me. Previously I had already purchased a Constellation Pie Pan with gold case but being a neophyte I had not understood that the dial was of the steel model. From mistakes you learn and I would like the next purchase to be less of an impulse.
Ah! I see, silver dial furniture. plenty the other way around ( gold dial furniture on SS case) but not like this one. still very wearable though.
And the minute markers are all over the place in every sense - some touching the outer ring, some not, different lengths, different thicknesses ...
