·Continuing my small sell off today with this charming and serviced gold top pie pan Constellation 2852 dating from around 1956.
The Constellation line was introduced in 1952 and the watch here is a reference 2852 with the chronometer calibre 505
The steel and gold top case is in overall pretty good shape and I've had a new decagonal service crown fitted. The case back and medallion are nice with all stars visible and sharp engravings.
The attractive cream coloured piepan crosshair dial has a light even patina and also some homogeneous tiny bubbling. On the wrist this can virtually not be seen, but good to know. The yellow gold sharks tooth markers and lumed dauphine hands are lightly tarnished with a soft rosey hue to them in certain light conditions which is very nice.
The calibre 505 movement dates to about 1956 and has been serviced by my watchmaker in 2019, I do not have a receipt for the work done. It is winding, setting, running and keeping good time and should be good for a few more years.
I'm selling this one head only but I can fit a matching brown leather strap if required.
