Omega Constellation 168.010 - thoughts

Hey guys looking at a 168.010. Everything seems fair on the dial passing the MOY, right hands, font has the serifs etc. (anything I missed as a learning experience?)

Case looks okay (not amazing but decently sharp) and same with back. 564 movement

Only concern is the date wheel. Is that something relatively easy/cheap to fix from your experience? What are your thoughts for $1300?

It looks like someone took a nice dial and decided to touch up the letters under the applied "Omega". The word "Officially" looks especially poor. Will need a service, the date shouldn't be changing at 2:40. Doesn't look good to me.

Thanks, my gut was telling me something was off about the word "Officially", but I couldn't put my finger on what it was. 100% needs a service just wasnt sure if the date being the way it was was a bigger issue than a service. That way I know for future watches. Thanks for the input my friend

No SN Unfortunately. Learning every day! maybe one day I can find a decent one that isn't on one of the retailers for 3k+ lol, unless maybe an 18k version (Omega Enthusiast, etc)

I'd pass for all of the reasons others have noted. In addition to that, amplitude at 167 isn't great. You would need a full service for sure.

I don’t believe that the dial has been touched up - the shakey writing is likely photo artefacts and the ‘officially’ is meant to look like that. ( odd though that is)

I do agree that the case is a bit rough and it’s not often we see that amount of rotor rub.

I’m sure there is nothing that couldn’t be fixed at service - but it could become (overly) expensive.
If this was an eBay find for $500 I would jump at it but the $1200 could easily turn in to $2000 - and the case would still be a little rough.

My 010 - not the sharpest pic I’m afraid but you can see the ‘dodgy’ (albeit correct) font.

Thanks and thanks for sharing. That is a beautiful piece. My top piece i am looking for would be like yours I think.

Is that lug at 7 bent or is it just the picture? That’d be something that’s not so easily fixed.

These cases often look like they have bent lugs in photographs but in this case I think you are correct.

For me, Connies are dress-watches, so (also) the case should be top-notch.

This case is heavily bent at 7. The amplitude is extremely low, the movement needs a service ASAP. The date wheel would not be expensive, there are many 564 parts still available for decent prices.. Your watchmaker should check if the rotor rubbing was fixed with the "new" bridge I see (different colour than the rest of the movement).

Regardless, I would not pull the trigger with a case lug as bent as that. You can find something better for sure 😀

Another black one, not as pristine as the 2 above with some dial lacquer issues. The larger area under 1 looks a little like map of UK??🇬🇧
I first thought hands were wrong but further research says baton hands also original option.
Looks better from wrist view
