Hi Everybody,

I just picked up this 14900 constellation and I’m curious if it is all original, as well as an approximate value. Thanks!

I can’t find one identical online. I’m not sure if that is just Becuase they made so many variations? No question of authenticity came from a trusted source. I really just want to learn more about it. Paid $500 USD serviced

Post some better pictures if you can including side on and a straight shot of the case-back

I think that’s an amazing price for a constellation. So good infact one should be suspicious. Looks good to me apart from the polished case( at this price it’s a good sign that’s there) because fake cases are known. Post the pictures as requested by the experts.

I will post more when I get a chance. Seller polished it as a condition with the sale. It had clear signs of wear when I looked at it initially.

If you paid just 500 usd for that watch then it's an unbelievable price!! IMO it is worth 3 times that price

Agree. And this being the rarer no-date version means it could even be a bit more than that.

Looks okay to me, except for the slight softness of the case and the wrong crown, which should be decagonal. Still, nice buy!

Awesome. Thanks for the info. What do you mean by case softness?

Cases get ‘soft’ when they’re polished. It’s generally better to preserve signs of wear rather than polishing as polishing rounds of the sharp edges and facets making them ‘soft’.

If you just google Omega 14900 you should get plenty of examples, though 14900 usually miss the "Offically Certified" line. It's not a rare model, but rather difficult to find in good condition for a good price. You did well despite the soft case, particularly including the bracelet.

I paid considerably more for my combo.

Did you say serviced? Service itself will cost half of what you paid. Tell us how the story of how you acquired it, should be interesting. Anyways good score.

Nice looking watch. FYI the next time around I wouldn't ask for polishing, while a newcomer would naturally think a nice shiny watch is preferable, actually a watch with signs of wear with sharp caselines is worth more than a polished example. Look at the lugs on @iamvr example above for comparison. Look at the Show me your Vintage Constellation thread for lots of nice examples to train your eye. You still did very well and enjoy your watch!

A friend that’s service tech had a client that wanted to sell it. He passed the deal to me and included a service from himself. Great guy that’s really helped me get into collecting watches.

The bracelet and service are worth more than the price you paid. So you got the watch for free.

Congrats on the watch, but the tech screwed the client. Your gain, his loss. Even without a service, the watch is worth twice as much or more depending on who bids on it on eBay.
