Thanks, I allready bought it. Will buy the locking crown kit and bringt it to new life. Exiting to have a watch, that maybe was used by a WWII pilot.

@LarryG saw right through it from the start.
    Lovely patina indeed. Congrats.

Watch arrived, small little gem ;) I am just a bit confused of the Zenith back? I read somewhere they used the same cases...but with the brand name inside? Can this be correct?

Those were indeed the same cases but of course the Zenith case back is not correct.
With military watches swaps might have occurred during service at the hands of military watchmakers —but then it all depends how much you paid for it and what the seller said?
What is the provenance and who is the seller, and how did they portray the watch?
It’s still a lovely watch but there’s a potential value impact.

    Ouch,
Wrong back is Indeed a bad news. If it wasn't mentionned by the seller and the price didn't take this into account, you could consider claiming to the seller.

Price was great, I wouldn't argue with the seller cause of that ;) I just had the same mixed stuff with Type 20 chronos. They changed everything with everything, hoping it will run again.

Anything else you see that is questionable?

    Thanks Nico

If the price was great, I'd say well done... Very cool vintage eyecatcher. :)

Posted the watch at MWR. Seems the Zenith caseback is, as I thought, the wrong one to the watch. But, fingers crossed, a guy wrote me with a Zenith Weems and Omega caseback. Bezel lock is also ordered, so I am pretty sure I will preserve this gem how it should be.

I call it complete. Thanks for the info and tips OF and Antoine for the parts. Glad this nice little piece of aviation history is back to life ;)

Love that you put this on a Bonklip, if I had the style of watch to do one I would, but my Mil watches are all US...so pigskin or fabric for mine.

    That’s very nice!
On to the ever growing want list it goes.

What kind of bracelet is that btw? Very fitting!

    Cheers,

    Max

    Thanks guys!

@Speedmasterfan88: it’s a Bonklip style Bracelet made by Gay Freres. Rumors says the pilots used that ones in duty ;-)

    Very nice!
And amazing someone had the same situation the other way around with a Zenith watch and Omega case back?
    Did that pan out too?
