How do I know if I’m missing the tension ring on my Seamaster Cal 563 reference year 1972 . Here’s a picture I’m newbie to collecting Omega and was curious if it’s complete or if I’m missing that tension ring. Any help is appreciated

Hello,

Welcome to the forum! I’d consider introducing yourself and updating your profile photo if you intend to stay.

Looking at your one photo, i’d say you are missing the tension ring under the crystal. If you look to the far right of the dial, you can see the stem/tube and that would usually be covered by a gold tension ring that sits under the crystal and fits/presses down over the edge of the dial. See the enlarged photo below:

Thank you for helping. Sorry I didn’t introduce myself so I will now my name is Cesar but I also go by the nickname Sosa I’m from Northern California and I started collecting vintage this past February 2020 and I have a big collection that I amassed while learning the ropes of collecting vintage. I have slowed down now and am more picky of what I do buy. Some of my favorites are my Omega watches I have collected and I want to expand more with Omega and want to learn more about the different calibers and the horology of each piece I collect. Thanks for having me and I’ll be posting more as I get time to do so. By the way where can I source the tension ring I asked about earlier?

You’ll have to buy a new crystal. The rings aren’t sold separately. You might not have the correct crystal anyways.
