Omega pros-

Would be grateful for your input on this. I was researching a Connie 168.004 that I own and want to list. But just checking before I put it out there. It's got a cal. 561 that is quick set. My reading tells me these were not quick set.
Your thoughts?

Watch has an uncommon arabic dial, don't know if that helps here. Would also like to know if crown is original-

TIA to all who reply-

Cheers,

Todd

Cal 561 should have semi-quickset, advancing the date by going back and forth between 9 and 1 or so. How does the quickset on yours work?

That's exactly how it works, thankfully..

I had read a few things online stating that it was not a quick set..

Thanks so much!

I think "quick set" is usually used to describe mechanisms that advance the date without having to move the hands back and forth. Like a cal. 565, where you can repeatedly pull the crown to do that, or - a bit later - the 10xx series of movements, where you could just turn the crown in the 2nd position to adjust the date.

The earliest date movements, like a cal 353 didnt have any short-cut whatsoever, so the 561 is much quicker, yet not "quick" - hence the term "semi-quickset", I believe. But I'm sure this is all just our own terminology and there's no real "right or wrong".

Correct, Todd, that is not a quick set. A quick-set date will have an additional crown position, as @MtV noted.
