Hey OF
My first post was a failure because i didnt do enough research before i posted it here. Im a little bit embarrassed (rookie's mistake) however i am still pushing on to find a good vintage omega. Recently i found a watch but i need a bit help if this is an authentic omega watch. I found out through research that this is a 2846 10sc 1958 seamaster with cal 501 movement. The seller tells me everything is original except the crown. Lastly what would be a good price for this?

If you keep it and wear it, there will be need for a service anyways.

I think so, if you don’t mind the dial. But price is a subjective thing. If you want it and can afford it, who’s to tell you no?

There are a few SM for sale in private sales which are sold by legit collectors. I believe their prices are about 600ish USD. Why not get those instead?

Im always checking the private sales but unfortunately with import fee of 20% here plus oversea shipping are too much of a problem...

Where are you? Not all sellers are US based, even some who quote the prices in dollars.

The price on that could be considered fair in isolation but the dial isn’t great and by the time it’s serviced it’ll owe you maybe £600+ which makes it less of a good buy as there are nicer watches out there.

Im based in Korea and custom fee here is 20%of the goods over 150 us dollars.... so these beautiful watches i see here on the forum are final price × 1.2
However im always looking around on the private sale with hope

I see. It’s exactly the same in parts of Europe too.
