Hello, I have a simple question. I am struggling to install my third wheel cannon pinion on an Omega Cal.1002. When I try to press it on with tweezers it doesn’t want to pop into place and I am worried with more force it will break, so I was wondering what is the best way to do it and how much force should it require to install to avoid breaking anything? Thanks!

You really need to support the bridge and jewel on the underside when you press this on. Personally I use the Horia jewelling tool for this task...

It clicks on with ease. By the way, this isn’t really a cannon pinion, as that is in the middle of the movement. This is a driving pinion.

Unlike a cannon pinion, there is no real adjustment of the tension, so they all click on with a firm push, and no lubricant is applied like you would for a cannon pinion as it’s not designed to slip.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Al
