Visited a buddy (also a watch nut) in Vancouver yesterday. Popped into the Omega boutique at the Fairmont hotel.

Top flight staff, super knowledgeable and accommodating. We spent some quality time with 4 watches: Dark Side, Grey Side, FOIS and the Seamaster Master 300. All were available for sale and if you are looking, as for Jorge Luna.

All very nice and impressive. My fav is the Seamaster 300. It looks much nicer in person, might have to add one to the rotation.

They gave me, my wife and my buddy nice omega pens...馃榾

Sounds like a fun adventure!

Where's the boutique in Toronto though?!

Edit: the seamaster 300 is really nice in the metal. So simple. I don't have a clue which of those I would land on though to be honest ..

I always love hearing about good staff in these boutiques. I stopped in my local Boutique yesterday just to say hello to a salesman. He knew it was a little slow so he said "get that speedy off your wrist, I want you to try this!" I tried on the new SM300 Titanium, SM300 Stainless, and almost got talked into the black Omega nato strap. Which I was quickly talked out of by my better half. I'm in sales myself so I respect when I get super attentive, not pushy service. Class acts.

At Yorkdale Mall. But be warned it's a "Boutique-in-shop" at European Jewellery.

There's also humberton jewlers in the west end, on royal York.. in there a week or so ago to see about servicing a piece. Nice shop, imagine it will be expensive.

European Jewellery is not known for being very generous with discounts in the first place, so my guess would be no. It's from a while back, but this one stuck with me. Of course I can't verify if it is true, but if it is, not a place I would consider dealing with myself.

I remember that story when I used to be more active on WUS.

They must shift a lot of Omegas, not to have lost their dealership status if they were playing fast and loose with servicing outside of the network.

The Seattle boutique's service was less impressive. I took a Speedmaster in for warranty work, the conversation started with, "let me make sure this is authentic". I do not talk to that sale guy anymore and will probably not go back unless i have to.

This apparently happens with certain ADs...for instance I've heard of it happening with Tourneau, where they claim they're sending it to Omega but it instead goes to their in-house service department. In my opinion it's completely unacceptable, and if it happened to me, I would do everything in my (legal) power to get restitution from the offending business. As a precaution, I would never buy from a jeweler who has ever even been seriously accused of such tactics.

This really happened at a US Omega Boutique (not a regular AD)? A salesperson asking if the watch was authentic before taking it in for warranty? This is surprising and unacceptable. You should talk to the Boutique manager about your experience; I suspect that salesperson will get a talking-to at minimum.

Yes, at a US boutique. I was wearing flip flops that day i think, but i have gone into mall ADs after wrenching on my car and still got great service. Maybe he was having a bad day. The other reps were fine when I went to pick up.

Back to Vancouver Boutique---Awesome. Will go back for sure. That GSOM is very nice...

I've spent time in the Vancouver Boutique and must admit Jorge is an excellent guy to deal with.
Pleasant, knowledgeable and patient.
One day I'll forget to leave my wallet in the car.

I have lived in Seattle for 23 years, and find far too many such types here. We like to say they are from California! 馃槈
