Smallseconds
·I’m thinking about picking one of these up. Anybody own it? What do you think about? Does it get much wrist time? Any input is appreciated.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I'm really liking the bi-tone senda gold model.
I saw the Moonshine gold model at an OB a couple of months ago, nice, but I was more interested in the Sedna gold version, I liked the pink dial. They offered to order one in but I didn't like the US$18,100 price tag. I started looking on Chrono24 but there weren't any showing up, then they started to dribble in but with prices at or above retail. I figured I'd wait a while until prices started to drop like they usually do on gold pieces. Two weeks ago one popped up from a US vendor for the silly price of $11,750. I asked if it was brand new with all three cards, box, etc. figuring something wasn't quite right with the watch. 'Yep, BNIB from US dealer, still wrapped, all three cards'. Then a few minutes later they came back with an offer of $11,500. Seller was legit with almost 750 reviews, 4.9/5.0 rating. I couldn't let that one go so out came the credit card late Wednesday evening, watch in my hands Friday noon, exactly as described, new in box, stickered, sold from US AD in July, seemingly untouched since leaving Bienne. How, why, dunno, but a heck of a bargain at 36.5% off MSRP, I was just at the right place at the right time. Trolling Chrono 24 late at night sometimes turns up interesting nuggets.
Many people don't like bicolor watches, too much of a 1970/1980 look, but I like them if they aren't overly done. Omega did well with these, typical 3861 quality, Sedna gold links and bezel, nice pink panda dial, ceramic tachy insert, looks great on the wrist. According to Omega's website the bicolor watches weigh 161 grams, the steel 138 grams, you can definitely feel the extra heft of the added 18kt gold.
