Looking for thoughts on the Omega black rubber strap for the 42mm Planet Ocean

I will actually vote for the original ‘chunky’ Omega tang buckle rubber strap.

For me it is a combination of looks/fit and comfort. I have tried sailcloth and leather as well on my 42mm PO. But I keep coming back to the original bracelet and rubber. The bracelet makes the PO look like ‘one continuous piece of metal’ wrapped around the wrist. The rubber really makes the watch head stand out with a rugged look. It is not only down to the flush fit but also the thick angular sections of the strap towards the lug-ends. I use the rubber during summer months or vacations, even though the metal would be cooler in hotter and humid conditions.

How pliable is that strap? It looks thick and stiff to me--but I've never handled one so I don't know for sure.

The one complaint I have about the 2201.50 on bracelet is that the male end links protrude out just a little more than I prefer. So I'm looking for a strap that has a more significant angle downward toward the wrist.

It is not pliable towards the lug ends. It is very ‘muscular’ and I suppose that it’s meant to be that way to make the flush fit against the case work.

Ok thanks. It's not for me then.
