Hello Everyone,

Recently I discovered this forum and this is my first post =)

I came across this Seamaster 120, but when comparing to other items at Chrono I noticed that the hands and bezel are a bit off.

Doen anyone have an idea weather this a Guinness one with aftermarket parts or a complete counterfeit?

Looking forward to hear your thoughts.

Regards!

It doesn’t look good, that is for sure. Wrong hands, bezel etc.

I actually think that bezel is correct. It’s just very worn to the pint the pear at 12 has been lost and obviously there’s heavy wear to the entire outer portion.

All the hands and the crown are wrong.

Maybe you’re right actually, the lack of a hole for the pip is concerning. The font etc all looks good thouh which is unusual for a generic.

Unfortunately there are more and more of these "well worn' 120s showing up on the market using artificially aged counterfeit parts, including cases, bezels, and dials. Buyer beware.

Agree but I don’t think this is one of those.
I was concentrating on the fonts and hadn’t noticed the lack of a recess for the pearl so I agree now the bezel is not correct, but I think this is just a well worn watch which has been repaired over the years with generic parts. Nothing I can see on it is modern fake, aged to look genuine.
Still not worth much as regardless, the bezel, hands and crown are wrong and the dial isn’t great. Can’t say much about the case.

You mean this Guinness?

Finally something I know about.

Ok, so genuine pint of Guinness, correct colour body, head slightly short but not bad, lettering all correct, served in a modern Guiness glass.

Recommend buy now as Diageo have this week announced further increases from April 15.

I'd like to see more photos before making that call.

I see condensation on the glass which would imply US market (should be served at room temperature). Only after a thorough inspection through my kidneys would I be comfortable buying it.

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for the prompt replies. Whoops next time I’ll do a spelling check before I hit the send button 😉

It also seems that the dial looks different in the area of the 12 indicator.

The asking price is 1400 euros for this item and herewith below a few more pictures of the case.

Regards!

Just walk away from this one- don’t look back.

Fake, generic, worn, makes little difference really. It’s not a good example and will need several very, very hard parts to make it complete. Even then it won’t be an attractive watch.
For a couple hundred more you can get a good one, with bracelet.

Walk away indeed.

As has been discussed in other threads- these are $2-$2.5k watches. You can get a beater for under $2k but if you want to bring it back up to snuff, find the correct bracelet, correct hands, or think you can find a bezel (you won’t- don’t fool yourself and think you can) it will be a money pit and a heartache.
Condition, condition, condition- there are no parts resources to restore these (other than the movement)- what you buy is what you will have.

It's awful, why would you even consider buying it?
