Hi all,

First post, looking to get this lovely clean (100% original, never worked on) Omega serviced.

This was my Grand Fathers watch and is all working etc. Has a small crack in the crystal (my fault not his, photographs are before the crack)!

So many good repairers are refusing new work these days as they are too busy but sort of hoping @ChrisN might see this and get in touch as I know he would be a good option (he is not taking new customers unless an previous one passes on his details (can anyone DM me his info?).

(@ChrisN I may be able to assist with getting your bad/fake Google review removed - it's something I do for customers of mine as this is part of my business).

Anyway, I think you may be surprised at the condition of this watch considering - owned by my Grandfather from new, he wore it all the time (they treated their stuff well in those days) and I put it in my safe when he died about 25 years ago. It runs fine and looks great but certainly needs a service.

I would love to get one or two of the worst marks of the dial and improve the condition of the markers a little (3 o'clock is worst - others not all that visible in normal light) but I guess that is probably a big no no as it touching the dial will no doubt make things worse.

d their stuff well in those days) and I put it in my safe when he died about 25 years ago. It runs fine and looks great but clearly needs to be serviced.

Welcome to the forums! Great watch for your first post, and I really hope you keep it. I'm guessing most here would suggest you go gently on any polishing and dial cleaning/restoration; it has so much more going for it by keeping it as close to original as possible, especially with the family link.

Nice look watch. Owned a few steel models of the same design. Crown doesn't look like an Omega design, but it's color is close to the case color, so I would leave it (modern are gold plated and do not match old gold cases)
