Omega AR coating - scratch removal? Anti glare!

Hi everyone, I bought my first omega last week a very nice omega speedmaster day date (MK40) I love it!
However the AR coating was scratch and it was annoying me, so I took my dremel and very carefully, in low rpm, I polished the sapphire glass.

I managed to accomplish my goal, and the glass was polished and no more AR scratch, however now the reflections are getting on my nerves..I know, there is never a win win situation. 馃檨

To be honest I鈥檓 not sure what to do, if it鈥檚 just a matter of time, for me to get use to it.. or if I should buy a new sapphire glass. I looked around at the aftermarket and they are not very expensive, I鈥檓 just not sure if they come with AR coating on both sides?!

or even if there is a product, like defogging spray, that we can apply into the sapphire to mitigate the reflection.. any ideas?Any anti glare tricks ?

With AR:

I personally wouldn't use an "aftermarket" crystal on this watch. The genuine crystal from Omega is a domed crystal, different internal and external radii, so rather specific. I would be surprised if someone has duplicated it exactly, so something aftermarket is likely going to look quite different...

Thank you archer, there is any product or way to improve the visibility of the cristal? Such as anti glare?

Been discussed before .... short of changing it with an original part, somebody was saying that there is a reasonably common AR. treatment that can be done in optical laboratories. It鈥檚 not just a spray etc, it is an industrial-like procedure.

it is entirely possible that would cost more than replacing the crystal.

I have the ultimate solution to your problem, just sell it to me! 馃榾

I've been looking to buy one for some time, passed on 2 auctions lately, and really regret the first 2 mk40 auctions I passed (one black, one Schumacher) - the Schumacher had a serial that started with 55912 - which is a meaningful number for me, also as a .02 for readers, mk40's seem very hard to buy, almost 50% of the ones I see have the date wheel messed up from a date setting during the date change of the watch

Anyway, here's my useful feedback, as an obsessive person that found solutions to (some)obsessions:

Just give it 2 weeks, you'll get used to it, if after 2 weeks, if it still bothers you, sell it, and don't buy a new one (or maybe 2 months for a watch, I was obsessed with the dial type of one of my watches, after 2 months, I got used to it, as an example)

Honestly, you seem to have achieved a very hard task, so congratulations on that, I have a dremel too, I'd appreciate a photo of which head you used - and maybe a representative photo of how you masked the bezel etc.

"Scratch鈥憆esistant sapphire crystal with anti鈥憆eflective treatment inside"

After seeing the above page, I was relieved, but I guess it's not the case? Also for these watches, post 1997 seems to have Tritium like yours that go yellow, which I like, maybe the pre-1997, or Superluminova ones don't have the outer coating?!

Well apparently there are indeed 2 versions: https://omegaforums.net/threads/clear-sapphire-ar-coating-vs-old-blue-hue-ar-coating.50423/

So is the clear AR coating inside, while the blue hue AR coating was outside?
Yes there is/was 2 AR coating, I still can see the inside one.

regarding the procedure that I did, I kind of followed this YouTube video:

let me know if you need me to share more details, however the video is pretty accurate. I used paper/masking tape ( lightly adhesive) to cover the watch and bezel.

I bought soft felt polish buffing wheels in AliExpress, for 2.5 euros. I used the smaller buffing with enough poly watch.
