It's based on the flat-link stretch bracelets of the 1960s such as the 1506 and 1039. IMO the bracelet is no reason not to buy a watch though... you can always change it out for a strap of your choice...
Cheers, was wondering as it looks quite "vintage"

All I can say is it's a very comfortable fit and a looker.

Probably the best Speedmaster bracelet to date, but given the lengths they've went to produce it a slim fitting micro adjustable clasp would have been the icing on the cake.

Keep changing my mind back and forth.. it’s a rare beauty, maybe I need to give it some more time

If you are on the fence, definitely give it more time. You don't want to get rid of it and then regret it later.
I was never a fan of the subdial at 9, but the rest of the watch makes up for it.
I am extremely happy I was able to get one and I now love the watch.
I intend on keeping it and passing it down to my oldest son some day, as he had already expressed interest in it before I even put my name on the list.

Agree, it would have been nice to have an adjustable clasp, but they are always bulkier and thicker than the standard kind. I think Omega was going for the sleek, classic look so they went with the non-adjustable design.

Still waiting on mine. It will come in when it comes in...

In the meantime, I bought my brother a black SMP for his 40th birthday! So excited to give it to him!

Waiting with my 50% deposit.

Maybe a blue 5711 will show up in a dealer shop window?

Maybe a new Batman GMT is there too?

-Guess I’ll just wait for the Speedy.

I just got the Apollo 11 bracelet fitted to my Silver Snoopy, and it’s amazing. It worked using 19mm spring bars. Ω SKU 068ST2107 to be exact.
I c onfirmed today the new Apollo 11 bracelet also fits quite well on a standard sapphire sandwich ref. 3573.50 using 19mm x 1.5mm spring bars.

Two days ago, my Apollo 11 50th and I visited The Dish, the radio telescope at Parkes, NSW, Australia, that received the first video signals of Armstrong and Aldrin, and relayed them to Houston for transmission around the world. The story is told in the movie "The Dish," with Sam Neil.
I really enjoyed the movie, but it turns out the full story of the reception of the signals is a little more complicated, and involved the tracking station at Honeysuckle Creek as well as the local telephone exchange at Parkes . The Honeysuckle Creek antenna has been de-commissioned, but was moved to the NASA Deep Space Tracking Station at Canberra. When I visited Canberra DSTS yesterday, the public relations official there admired my A11 50th. He mentioned that he is a collector and has several of the other Apollo 11 LEs, but not the 50th.

It's been a great week!

I just got my call, and I may fetch it tomorrow! But what should I do? It does not sing to me. True I have not seen it alive. But the more I look at the back parts of Buzz, the more I resent that 9 o’clock sub dial! Of course I checked Chrono24 and as far as I saw there is a hefty premium! And honestly I am tempted to turn myself into a flipper. What do the fellowship say?

I wasn’t keen on the sub dial either - I don’t normally like gimmicky watches

But once i tried it on I loved it. Took 30 mins to think it through and very happy I purchased it. In fact it’s probably my fav speedmaster. It’s just special. It feels special and looks unique.

Ps I like marmite watches too. Good that it divides opinion/

Only you can decide, it should be your choice. I wouldn’t buy it to flip it. Asking price isn’t always selling price.
