Picked up my watch this week sans display box and extras as well (US AD). Guess that's how they're coming in right now. Don't have an ETA for the box.

Could not providing the box until later be an attempt to discourage flipping?

Just a quicker way to get them out if only the box is the hold up...

The boxes are made in China, maybe they are on a slow boat, or their supply chain went off the rails. I can't ever remember when a watch was available but the special box wasn't. Hopefully just a short term delay.

It’s an obscure, esoteric anniversary that caught the entire supply chain by surprise

I don't know if you are being sarcastic or if you believe that. The date and anniversary was set in stone 50 years ago, and the moon landing was one of the most momentous achievements in human history. Not obscure, not esoteric.

Interesting that the display box isn’t ready yet. Omega is releasing in their regular boxes for now

So do you get to keep the non-display box in addition to getting the display box later for the inconvenience? Or did they request you return it when you get the display box?

I do get to keep it.

I picked mine up today in Dallas. 45xx/6969

Now that I have it on my wrist, I think it’s the best looking Speedmaster they’ve made.

I’m curious if the numbered editions are random or what people are seeing.

I picked mine up from my US AD last week (who had just received the shipment) and it was 14xx/6969.

Just curious if you received the full presentation box or a temporary?

Congrats. Random numbering, I got mine Aug 25th, no 96x. I agree, it's a very elegant interpretation of the classic Speedmaster, a worthy tribute for the occasion.

Congrats!

I picked mine up August 2nd. My AD received 2 of them. One was 15xx, the other 16xx. About 50 numbers apart.

"Only someone like me" how nice of you to say so. The truth is there is good a bad everywhere, but there's a fairly high percentage of bad when it comes to watch sales from the Italian dealers and I would say people should be wary.

I just want to say that that platform offers secure methods of purchase, protected and with guarantees, so it does not seem correct to me to discriminate on the nationality of the sellers.
Of course it's very different to buy watches in Naples or on ebay ......

You can't make it up!
So it's not correct to discriminate against watch sellers from Italy, but it's ok to have a pop at the dodgy buggers from Naples.😕
