It still seems sketchy as to whether the 50th bracelet will work long term on a standard case. Is there no issue with that machined 'ridge' on the end link? And even if it can be made to fit we do not know if Omega will sell this bracelet separately in the future. Some say 'no', some say 'yes', but no one really knows what Omega's policy is going to be. If it's a special one-off design for the Anniversary watch they probably won't sell them separately, but if they make it standard going forward the probably will. Too much up in the air at this point.

Yes, a Speedy Tuesday Ultraman, which has similar case dimensions to the 50th. The small lip on the bottom of the end link prevents the entire link from fitting flush with the case. It keeps the spring bar from being able to fit into the hole from the vertical axis. Sometimes the end link can wedge in and feel at first as though it's secure, which I expect is what the Reddit fellow has experienced, but it'll pop out eventually - especially if he tries to wear it.

You can't fit curved spring bars through the bracelet - the passage through each end of the end link through the bracelet link is straight all the way through. If you could find super thin spring bars, maybe that'd work but I'd be concerned about their ability to hold the heavy bracelet in place.
I wouldn't call it a myth, and especially wouldn't call it debunked until you've tried it yourself and worn it - I know I'm not taking that chance.

When she sees me over the next year not wearing it, I assume she will twig I’ve flogged it. Maybe it’s just me, but that’s not my style....

I hope you lock on that offer. Your grey will go bust offering £9,800 on on that too regularly.

Even our friend taz didn’t get that....

The offer is locked and is higher than £9800, but I'm sure they have figured they can sell it for more than they are paying.

Would the 21st not have been the best day to pick it up as that was the date they walked on the moon, while the 20th was when they landed.

Given the date in the box is the 21st I presume that is the best date. Interested what others think.

The 21st was the day I picked up my regular Speedy (My first Speedy) for exactly that reason. Sadly I missed out on the LE, but I am still hopefully on the list, and some point in the future I maybe lucky enough to get one.

True, however the 21st was a Sunday and stores here (by law) are closed ;). Warranty card says 21st nevertheless...

Not entirely on topic, but seeign as its Apollo related i thought worth a shot. The snoopy 50th, is that likely to be annouced prior to the date of Apollo 13th, or could it be any time? ( my hope of landing the apollo 11 is disappearing ( 50th on the list in HK and 13th in Malaysia :p)

Popped by the local AD to try and have a glimpse of the anniversary watches but only managed the Apollo 11 50th.

While i'm mostly a steel vintage type of guy, I was very pleasantly surprised with this one when on the wrist! The bracelet is really nice and comfortable and the light play on the gold bits contrasting with the black/grey is very nice too.

Yes, it is such a nice watch, just sorry that I was too late to get on the list. Still there are always next years LE's to consider :)

I'm going to ask to get on the list for the Apollo 13 when I collect this one, should be in time not to worry about being down the list.
