Except for the loss of interest (or perhaps finance charges for some) on $10k since March. Hrmph.

Yes, but if you stick with it and then sell/flip the watch for a tidy profit that can only be seen as a good thing.

If Omega is releasing these watches by lowest to highest numbers (no idea if they are) than 1168 is at the 17% mark. So Omega is making progress and should get them all out by the end of the year.

I was working 5 weeks ago in a factory in Porrentruy called Lxxxx Lxxx, they have made the cases for both watches and delivered all of them around mid of May to Omega ready to be movement fitted.

Well, Omega have at least until 10th August* to bang out some “on time” deliveries.

* Date when the Apollo 11 crew were released from quarantine, so more less the end of the mission.

Was anyone able to request a specific LE number and have the request honored?

To those wondering about fitting the bracelet onto a vintage Speedy, or saying it won’t fit, I present this guy on Reddit, who bravely agreed to try a swap at my request.

Let me preface this by saying I’m a little nervous about what could be an unseated pin on the 6 o’clock side, resulting in a sloped endlink. But it could just be an illusion.

The guy says the watchmaker at an OB simply popped it off the 50th and put it on his 321. He says the fit is snug with no wobble.

Scroll past the video for stills and another video.

I decided to walk away of the list in one of these after the release but I’m really excited for all of you who are taking delivery!!!

I just didn’t have enough love for the subdial. The caseback and hands as well as bracelet sure look good though.

Were you not tempted to sell it to a dealer at a £2500 profit?

I'm pretty sure that is not something most of us would be happy doing. Fair play to @Civic4982 for walking away and allowing another customer to benefit from the watch at RRP.

Where do you get that from? Last I heard WF offered 400 over retail and one other offered less than list??

Which will be what I do should I not like it in the metal. For starters I have a great relationship with my AD and I wouldn’t do it to them given they are always good to me.

It "fits" until the loose spring bar pops out and then both your watch and bracelet are on the floor.... I thought it fit my Ultraman until I tested it by pulling on the bracelet to see if it was loose, and it was. The spring bar will not secure into both holes.

Just to clarify, we're talking about a Speedy Tuesday Ultraman and the new bracelet from the 50th Apollo 11 LE, yes? Did you try to refit it when it popped out? Because I definitely have had instances where the pin didn’t seat properly on a modern solid link bracelet on the first, second or even third try, but eventually did. Sometimes I could do it with one spring bar but not another.

If it gets most of the way there then I would bet skinnier or even curved bars would make it fit. I think this has rather debunked the myth that it won't fit other Speedies IMO. And I speak as one who has form for making bracelets fit there they shouldn't

What will you be doing to the AD other than handing over near £7400?
