You're right, not much in the scheme of things - I'm just extra sensitive because of some deceptive shenanigans at my local OB. Hopefully other forum members will not experience it.
What interest? Maybe 1% at a bank. Or maybe you would have invested it in Boeing (BA) and lost a bit. You win some, you lose some.

The interest I’m losing is in the watch itself.

There is always an easy out, one call to the boutique and you are out of the system.

Of course, we all know that. I think the point is that paying that much money for something and not having any idea when you’re going to get it, makes for a disappointing experience at best. especially when you have been led to believe other things. If you have endless amounts of money then I guess it wouldn’t matter but I don’t. I bought this, in part to gift myself something cool for my 50th Bday. If I don’t have it before that date, I will be making that call.

It's not as bad as being on a list for a Rolex Ceramic Daytona for over two years and not knowing if you'll ever get one.

Did you pay 100% deposit?

Off topic, but since I don't have anything better to think about while I wait on my watch to arrive, has anyone given any thought to what strap they'll fit on it?

Personally, I think the bracelet is one of the best things about this watch, but I like to change things up sometimes. I don't think I will use the included cork strap.

The Moon Watch is so versatile when it comes to what strap you can use with it, but the dressier aspect of this watch has me wondering. Any thoughts/suggestions are appreciated!

No but if I had, I'd have known the possibility of getting one would be greater. Unfortunately it's not an option in the UK.

I have no idea what you were told by your OB, maybe you were promised some sort of delivery date, or something else. All I know is what I was told in March by the OB that "delivery will start in July and continue through the end of the year", and reconfirmed to me two weeks ago. They did start in July and hopefully all deliveries will be complete by the end of the year. I'd have loved to have gotten the watch prior to July 20th but it was never indicated to me that that would happen and I never expected it. Frankly, given Omega's track record, I'm surprised they actually started delivery before the big day. I'm not disappointed at how Omega USA is handling this so far, very few watches have come through, it's up to Omega CH to produce the watches and get them to the various country distributors around the world. I'm waiting, it will get here when it gets here. I understand some folks will have different timelines and pain thresholds for the wait, my point was there is an easy way out if it just doesn't work for you any longer. You seem to have a deadline date and that's fine, you have to do what is best for you.

Of course, there was always a lot of fine print sections, disclaimers and in fact, no promises made about the target delivery date (I mean, some of us were even "on the list" before the Watch was even officially released)... but it was certainly not unrealistic for us all to hope for a delivery on or around THE actual date of the Anniversary.
I can definitely sympathize with people who had lots of anticipation for receiving the call/message last week.
I am happy for the lucky few who managed to get it "on time". For the rest of us.... apparently, patience is a virtue! 👍

What are you talking about??? I picked it up at $65, and I am pretty happy even with the drop from $440.

::psy::

As far as people 'losing interest in the watch' while they await delivery, that signals to me they are not all that crazy about it anyway. If you really, really like it and want to keep it forever, the wait is merely an inconvenience.

It could be worse, 12 to 13 years ago I was determined to buy the TH Carrera calibre 360 steel, waited for 2 years. Turned out they didn't produce it except for the pre-production shown in the press release. As there still was the WG available decided to go for it albeit with a big price difference. The wait for the Apollo 11 SS is not even an inconvenience for me as I'm guaranteed one.

Hi everyone,

Adding to the list - could pick up mine on July 20th, what a perfect date. OB was happy to see that plenty of friends are waiting to welcome the newcomer 😉.

The watch: I think it is a great piece! In the beginning I was critical when seeing the photos, especially about the sub-dial. In real-life: what a watch! And the bracelet itself is a small masterpiece, hope they will roll this out to the regular 3861 Speedies.

Have a great day!

Wow, what an awesome collection, congratulations.

Just on the number alone , yours will be a big premium on top of whatever the asking price is (believe me) ..
