Totally agree - for $10k, this package should have included a(t least one) very nice leather strap and a NATO in addition to the cork. I also think that the bracelet, as nice as it is, really should have had an adjustable clasp extension at this price point. Frankly, the standard Moonwatch kit has more going on than this one, for just a little bit more than half the price.
100% agree. Discussed this with the Boutique manager when I picked mine up and they agreed as well. Given the importance of this piece, and what Omega has done for the regular Speedy and the 1948, this was a bit of a let down from a strap perspective.

Oh and for those of you still wondering about the bracelet, it does not fit the standard Speedmaster. There’s a little notch in the case between the lugs and a little lip on the end link.

Piss off little notch!!!!

The bit that screws in is attached to the center link though, but not the rest of the end link. It's also recessed, so it doesn't contact the case at all - it has nothing to do with fitment. I think if you tried unscrewing it in a bid to attach it to a standard Speedmaster, you'd be disappointed...
Hmmm. Based on all the photos it looked more like those screws attached the short centre link to the end link, so in theory you could take the middle part off and still attach the bracelet and end link to the case...at least this is how I imagined it...

Well if that’s the case, I promise to remove my tacky Luke Skywalker meme.

I think Luke gets to stay. Removing that screw-on plate/centre "link" doesn't win you anything; it's the end link with the extra tab that's the problem….the whole lot has to go. The best hope is to find one of those folded end links with precisely the right centre cutout width for the last real centre link on the bracelet. There was a thread that discussed something like this for the FOIS.

^^^ Or some enterprising soul will design, machine and polish a new end link without the new center tab but with wing tabs to stabilize the new end link. And then you'll have to source the bracelet from Omega, and the word is this bracelet will not be for sale to the general public.

I’d be first in line for those end links.

but as @Evitzee said, without the bracelet they are useless, unless you want to use them as earrings.

Yes, that is how it's set up. The spring bar still goes through the piece with the notch though so all you'd accomplish by removing the center piece is just a gap in the middle of it - the areas right above the screw holes still fit flush to the case.

Using Pepe's photo as an example as it's from a better angle -

The red box is what would be removed, but the spring bar loops through the first link of the bracelet via the "main body" of the end link, at the red arrows. So you're still stuck with the notch :/

Right, that's what I was trying to say….rather inarticulately. What is the width of the centre link by the way?

For those in the US waiting on deliveries, I received some information yesterday that the watches are being shipped out in bundles of two to the boutiques. This was verified by two different boutiques and matches up with what other customers have been told. So, if you are one of the lucky first two at your OB then you should be getting your watch any day now. From the third on down it could be a while. I'm supposedly number 9 at my OB and I was told "probably" next month. Anyway, it looks like the only thing known for sure is they definitely wont be distributing all the orders, as some had speculated, by July 20th. Bummer.
Is this true for people who put down a full deposit at an AD? Or are we at the back of the line after the OBs get their allotment?

I heard from my OB manager that boutiques will get served first, whether this means ALL boutique orders will get filled first before the AD's I don't know. Only Omega HQ knows as they are the one parceling out the watches.

After some research, I found 2 OB's in Europe and 1 in Asia that have the 50th Goldie either in stock and/or no waitlist. Unfortunately it doesn't benefit me much in the US but PM me and I'd be more than happy to share...and of course if anyone would like to repay the favor with knowledge of a US OB with one, I won't say no 😀

That cork strap looks to me completely obsolete.
Just like the 50 yr old Apollo technology. It's all old and obsolete.

As one more data point, my OB (USA) has given me a September estimate on delivery. They have received two so far (of 14).

Did you request an specific number? My OB told me that special request might take longer. I was the first one to receive mine but I don’t believe that I was the very first one to put the full deposit. I was maybe 3rd or 4rth. Maybe they didn’t like the number the OB got and rather wait.

I was told that specific numbers could not be requested, but I did put down a full deposit.
