Hi
Sorry for hijacking your thread, but it was this thread that pushed me over the edge. I've wanted a panda for a long time. I was looking for the Autavia, but I don't think I'm ready for a vintage Heuer, yet, same with my wallet...
So I contacted
Archer and ordered the dial, hands and case from him. Great service from Al, answers quickly to all my questions, great guy!
The movement was taken from a sorry looking but cheap 1970 Mark II, imported from Argentina
馃槻 But the movement turned out to be good. The chronograph wheel was damaged so I replaced it. Some small adjustments to the pushers and the stem and in the case it went.
So here it is in all it's glory. Have never gotten so many comments from friends and colleagues before, my wife loves it and so do I. Couldn't have been more satisfied!
I went with the original steel hands. Very hard to photograph as they black out in certain angles. But I wanted those, looks over function I'm afraid. I was sort of expecting the dial to be more white, but it's actually more like silver, really stands out.
Again, thanks Al for the fantastic service!
cheers,
Ketil
