Hi guys I am looking at buying this Omega with 30t2 movement in. The ref no the case back isn't yielding any help. Can anyone help id the watch? Is the dial legit?

That's a serial number, and it says that the watch has been produced in 1944.

That was an interesting dial design, unfortunate about the condition.

That watch probably was in WW2 trenches, sure has had a life. Love the 30T2 workhorse which is on my radar.

I have a similar dial from a ref 2639. Sub seconds though.

The watch you posted is 32 - 33mm? Missing case screws and has had the case polished.

I think this case design. Back holds the movement in place

The movement was made during the war. That’s all we can document. Highly unlikely it was a military issued watch. It certainly could have been on the wrist of a soldier, but there is no way to prove it.

I'm voting no. The font for the 55 minute is different than all the other 5's. it has 80 over the 12 marker. Under the logo it says OMEOA. Plus the dial damage looks terrible.

Would need a clearer dial photo but it definitely seems like a redial, possibly with the original hour markers

That is because it is just a case number not a reference number. A lot of 1940’s and older Omegas were like this.

Yes, indeed. I was being sarcastic due to the year being 1944 and due to the condition made the analogy.
