Hi OF members,

Offering this beautiful Omega 2846-2848 "Beefy Lug" Seamaster automatic, in beautiful, fully original condition. I purchased this watch in February 2021 from a well known collector/dealer and have worn it only occasionally. The movement was serviced in August 2021 by my watchmaker.

The stainless steel case measures 34.5mm excluding the crown and 18 mm between the lugs. It is unpolished and in amazing condition, with thick lugs fully intact and all original chamfers present. There are some superficial scratches (visible mostly on the caseback), reflecting normal wear over the years, with the "Seamaster" and "Waterproof" engravings as sharp as they come. Clover crown with flat-feet Omega logo is correct for this reference.

The cream-colored dial is beautiful and free of wear, with the radium lume on the hour plots fully intact. The hands have also retained their full lume, perfectly matching the dial, and present some corrosion which isn't uncommon or distracting when worn.

The cal 500 automatic movement is very clean, winds very smoothly and works as indented, keeping great time. The movement was serviced by my watchmaker in August 2021 (full overhaul with a NOS balance staff installed) and worn very sparingly since. I have an email trail of this that I can provide as needed. Photos of the caseback before/after shown below showing the service date.

It comes on beautiful but well worn dark grey calfskin strap, that I think fits the look of the watch perfectly. It also looks amazing on a Nato strap.

Up! -- The photos I posted were taken under very hard light and are meant to reveal even the slightest scratch to the case. This can be a bit harsh and makes the case back look a lot more scratched up than it is. Held in hand, those are hardly noticed and the watch is truly a beauty.

I listed it at the price I paid for it, and I got it serviced in the meantime. Reasonable offers will be considered!

The word "unpolished" gets thrown around rather loosely in watch circles, but with this one it's actually the case! 😉😉

What you see here is nearly 70 years worth of nicks and scratches, signaling a life well lived without too much abuse. Outside of a loupe's eye and hard lighting, the case is so full it's really a joy to wear and look at.

Bumping this beauty again.

Would love to pull the trigger on this, but the Taxman is squishing my habit this year....

Really nice!
You mention tritium in your write up. This seems like a 50’s watch no? In which case would be Radium 😀

Withdrawing for the time being. I've decided to keep the watch and enjoy it through the summer. Thanks for the interest and likes!
